Honeymoon VS Holiday

Assalamualaikum...

Don't you ever feel good that you have paid your wedding deposits or make any finalization? I do.

I just came home from meeting my caterer to pay 50% deposit of the balance and make amendments from 1000pax to 500pax. Although it's a huge cut of the no. of invitations, I don't mind what people going to say. I truly make priority to invites those to really know me and my family and those who we meet during Hari Raya. Durng the marriage course that finance & I attended, one of the speaker mention even your wedding is big or small, people still going to talk. You are never going to satisfied each and everyone of them. Come on, be frank, do you still remember a wedding you attend 3-5 years ago? No right. Make your wedding that you will remember for the rest of your life, instead of feeling full of regret and burden.

Speaking of marriage course, my fiance & I has just attend it last December, conducted by Suchi Sucess @ Masjid Sultan.

This course are very exciting and interactive. There are 4 speakers covering 2 different topics each. Out of 4, only one of the speaker makes me sleepy but the rest keeps me awake by laughter. I've learn a lot of things that I didn't know about my partner because I didn't even bother to find out. It makes me realize that small little things can make a huge positive impact on our relationship. The course also covered the 'first night' and how to handle mertua/mentua issues. I don't mind attending the course again.

6 more months for our relationship to become officially halal. I'm excited but nervous and stress at the same time. In May, we have appointment to choose our bridal outfits - can't wait! Next month have to book our kadi, void deck, honeymoon and buy my family wedding outfits. The most stressful part is our honeymoon. 2 months ago, we both dah cantik-cantik plan to go Bangkok and had roughly plan interesting places to go and the total cost. Just recently, my fiance advice not to go there yet because of rusuhan yang berlarutan entah sampai bila.. :(

I actually prefer to go to city area of a country - plan to visit the wax museum, themepark, go shopping, do outdoor sports activities and anywhere for adventure.

I told my friends and they scolded me, "What?! Rohani, are you going to honeymoon or holiday? Newlyweds usually spent their honeymoon by the beach or villa, have dinner at luxurious restaurant.. like go somewhere where there's privacy for intimacy and get to know each other."

They recommend me to go island places like Phuket, Bali & Krabi.

I then told them that I don't like to go beach places. Fiance & I both cannot swim. Go there for what? See people in bikini and trunk? Haha. Then not a lot of places to buy new clothes. Only eat and eat and eat, till get fat after the wedding.

Only this week when I think back what my friends said, it's true la. What am I thinking? We can go holiday anytime we want. It's not like Bangkok will going to disappear from the world map right. When we listed to final 2 which is Phuket and Bali. Although my fiance will be paying full expenses for the honeymoon, he just go ahead where I want to as long as he gets to travel on a plane for the first time in his 30 years!

We are going to survey Natas Fair this early March before making any finalization.

I'll end this entry by congratulating my friend, Shikin for stepping into a new phase of life, becoming a wife! (:
