Assalamualaikum...
Although I do not have any social network online, I know that by now some of my secondary school female schoolmate are already married and had a family or at most, all of them is in a long-term relationship. Although mine is mid next year, I find that the date is getting nearer and nearer. When my colleagues asked me if I'm excited, I would say, "My fiance is more excited than me!" Haha.. He's so over the moon that splurge for the wedding. Because of his spending, he's forever doing OTs this year. While I.. I'm strictly on budget. I try to cut down as much as possible. I wish for a simple yet memorable wedding. (; But one thing I'm nervous about.. it's not about the wedding but building a family. To think that I will had added responsibly especially being pregnant next year (insyaAllah kalau ada rezeki) is a scary thought. Sometimes, I do find myself still a teenage inside. Huhu.. Whatever it is, insyaAllah I'll get through it.
30DS update
I've stopped doing 30DS since I've started working night shift. I'm deprived of sleep every time I worked night shift so I'll rather doze off than exercise. I've stopped at Level 3 Day 5. Yup, i know it's 5 days to go.. I'm going to do it on my off days, which is in 2 days time. By the way, I'm super-happy that my weight now is 58kg! Alhamdulillah. 3 more kg & I'm at the ideal weight. (;
More than just diet & exercise
We've always been taught that to lose weight is the count calories, eat a balance diet (3 times per day or 5 small meals) and at least 150mins of exercise. I've done that but I felt that there should be something more to it. Something is missing. This way will only impact how I look outside, but how about inside - mentally and emotionally? After further online research, I've came across The Gabriel Method. There's a online summary of the book on Youtube. This weight-loss method without dieting is more psychological. Using your mind to switch off the fat mentality so that you can lose weight faster and avoid binge eating. I've use this method since I've stopped the 30DS and that's when i've last another 2kg. And you know what, I no longer crave for sweet stuff and snacks. I'm carving for nutritional food like fruit juice, popiah basah & salad. I never think it as a diet.
Juice fasting
In my previous entry, I've commented that losing weight from drinking only juice is ineffective method. After I did a research on it, I'm partially correct. If your intention is to ONLY lose weight from juicing, forget about it. But if your intention is to detoxify, go ahead. See this video below:
Now I know that important of detox. If you lose weight and have all the muscle mass and tone body without detox, there will be a chance that you will have diseases like cancer. I've been slowly drinking juice 2-3 times a day but with eating. I've plan to just do at least 7days juicing after my 5km run in March.
And another video is how eating raw food can not only prevent diabetes but reverse it.
Man-made food
And this is a great food documentary, must watch:
The reason why there's an increasing number of cancer, heart attack and diabetes patients is what they have put into their mouth. All those sugary and microwave processed food is a silent killer. Minimize it or to be safe, avoid at all cost. These are artificially man-made food with lots of chemical. Why eat it when god gives natural organic food that is already available for a long long time?
Above is the current food pyramid that we all been taught in school and media. I strongly do believe we have to re-think and shuffle the food pyramid. Should we really eat 5-7 servings of starch more than nutritional food like fruit & veg?
The food effect
A decade ago, I've removed mutton, beef & lamb completely from my meal. The reasons I had back then was I am so lazy to chew. I've tried to ate it before but I feel nausea just by smelling it. Then I cut back on any chewy food like, squid, calamari, chewing gum and etc. I certainly can't remember when I last ate it. People around me, would try their best to tempt me with these food especially during Hari Raya where they have rendang and sambal goreng daging, but no matter how hard they tried, it certainly wouldn't work. I just refuse to eat it. I just couldn't. If you ask me why, I don't know. Then I realised that this mental effect towards chewy food could also be apply on process food. If I avoid process food for a very long time and one day I decided to eat it, I probably will feel nausea by just looking at it. Haha.
Early this year, I've always google 'how to lose weight'. Now, it's more to 'how to be healthy' . To sum it up, being healthy is more than just a number on the scale.
