Venus Run 2013

Assalamualaikum all,

I really had a blast of fun on Sunday, 10th March. This is the first time ever this year, I felt that I had accomplished something big in my life - 5km competitive run. My sis and I signed up for Venus Run last time and I took 6 days off from work, just to prepare myself for this event.

The first 2 days, I slept like a baby because I was sleep deprived due to working night shift. Once I got my energy up on the 3rd day, I run 3km like I used to & hit the gym for 3 straight days. The following day, I woke up at 2.30am, very excited for the event that I couldn't sleep.

Reached Marina Barrage by 7am, place our baggage and pin the bib to our attire. The green grass covered by ladies in fuschia. I was so into the warm up and when the organizer asked, "Ladies, are you day to start?" I shouted like mad, "YEAH!!!!!!"

Warm up

Once the horn sounded, we run as fast as we could cutting many runners.

My sister was ahead of me

and I was no where near her.. heh

I was already pancit after 20mins of running, I started to slow jog and fast walk for a few minutes intermittently, to catch my breath. My sister was so far ahead of me.

When I saw 3km mark which I usually run for, I was like.. "Alamak! 2km more..." And whenever I saw the photographer I run.. Don't want them to snap my pic walking. Lol.

Dgn bersemangatnye aku kat belakang
With 1km left, I start to sprint my way to the finishing line. Mind you, the finishing line is a slope going upward.. can die I tell you!
Sprinting to finishing line
Can't believe I've made it!!! 5km sey!!! Lucky I complete it before 1 hour. Because after 1 hour, they will not record any runner's timing. I can't wait for the timing to be release in these few days.

Chill after the run with an amazing view

Absolutely great running event. I just can't believe I really made it because in school, most of the time I failed my 2.4km. Now, I felt like..''2.4 is chicken feet''. Haha..

Before the Venus Run, I run about 8-9min/km. After the event, I felt like I've got more stamina.. my time is now 7-8min/km. Make a difference! After a wk of not weighing in, I weight myself after that day.. I dropped 1 kg.. 57kg babe!!!

Thus, so far it's 5kg dropped since the first of this year.  (:

Cheers to health & fitness,
Rohani
