Butterscotch Cafe review

Assalamualaikum...

Finally, we had our dinner at Butterscotch Cafe! Actually, this is the 2nd time I traveled there. The first time, I went with my sister on the weekends evening and that tiny cafe was packed with lots of people in the waiting list. Of course, we were disappointed but they suggest us to go on weekend morning or weekday afternoon where it's a non-peak hours.

This time, I went with my fiance on weekday around 5pm. Glad there's couple of empty seats. Phew..

Although the cafe was very small (around 20 pax at one seating), the interior was amazing. Love the vintage brick walls and signage.

Look how excited Irwan is!
Huge wooden clothing pin serve as our table Q no.
I was kind of surprise that they include service charge because we have to go the counter to order and cold water is self-service. I just don't get it.

What we ordered:
Nutella Latte $7.50
Mango Mix $6.50
I tried Irwan's Nutella Latte (cold), and it's super bitter. I don't even taste the Nutella at all. I'm glad that I ordered Mango Mix for myself.  it's a juice mix with peppermint, mango & orange, if I remember it correctly. It's not pure juice from the blender, it taste like syrup juice but it was a perfect refreshing combo. Love it!

Chili Crab Cake Burger $14

Before I went to Butterscotch, I looked into their Instagram (@butterscotchcafe)- in my mind, I was saying, "quantity sikit nye". Tapi bila da dapat depan mata, ambek kau.. the plate is really large and worth the money! Hehe.

I never heard or tried any other halal chili crab burger and I can say that this dish really blow my mind. The sauce is not as spicy as the normal chili crab dish, it's sweet. The crab patty is soft and well-done. So-so-soooo...sedap!

Chicken Chop with egg - $16

Irwan had the Chicken Chop, additional $2 with egg. This is definitely not the cheap chicken chop dish from coffeeshop or preserved food eh. The chicken is juicy, tender and easy to cut through, mix it with the savory mushroom sauce and a bit of cold coleslaw.. mmmm-dapp! The eggs are perfectly cooked with the yolk ozzing out once you poke fork into it.

Well, we had 2 sides.
Churros - $11
The crunchy-on-the-outside & soft-on-the-inside cinnamon Churros is definately a must-try. Eat it while it's warm and dipped with the chocolate syrup & you can feel like you are in heaven. (;

Butterscotch Souffle $14
My sister told me to try this Souffle as she said it's a must-try menu from her Instragmers. Honestly, we do not know how to eat it. Kena poke a hole in the middle and put the chocolate syrup ke? But the ice-cream inside the bowl ke? Because we are still eating our main dish, we finished up the ice-cream first.

Honestly, first try ok la. But after several spoon, da naik muak or jelak. Hmm.. not a must-try in my cup of tea. Oh ya, you will have to wait 45 mins for it to be serve, because they make it fresh from the oven.

Overall, I find the price worth especially for the main dish. Although there's only 4 main dish to choose form, all of the dish is unique and rarely find it at halal restaurant/cafe in Singapore. So, better try! Although I heard from some foodie-addict / reviews that the desert and side dish price is kind of steep, but you can never find this kind of desert quality and from the size, it's definitely for 2. So do your math, it is affordable.

The environment is very welcoming and unique although the cafe is situated by wet markets and coffeshop. Just wish they have more space.

And guess what... after 4 days...

Chili Crab Burger, Smoke Salmon & Marshmallow Hot Chocolate
I went there again. This time with my sister. Sanggup seh, selepas keje malam balik pagi terus sarapan kat sana dengan muka ngantok-ngantok. Da plak tu, kiteorang datang awal... 15mins before opening. Heh. And I want to add that the Smoke Salmon I tried, is super duper sedap tak boleh angkat. Another must-try! (:
