Another 5K run - COMPLETED!

Assalamulaikum all,

After the run. view from the bridge

Alhamdulillah, I've completed the 5k Nike She Runs in 38mins!!! It's 5mins lesser than my previous 5k Venus Run!

The event was held at Gardens by the Bay East last Sat, 11 May. I went there with my sis. Little did we know, there were 8,000 participants until we reached there. The run was suppose to start by 6pm but due to large no. of runners, they did the starting gun point batch by batch. It was 6.30pm when it's our turn.

We were utterly disappointed with the running event. First, they did not informed us beforehand the expected number of participants. Secondly, the delay in gun point time and the running space was far too narrow. Everyone was pushing their elbows to each other. Safety was the main concern here. How the hell they invite thousands of participants and yet the running space it like for half the number? I agreed with one of the runner's comment in the Facebook that this event should be called 'Nike She Walks' instead. Thirdly, we get finisher's tee instead of medal. And even though the size is L, it's super small like an S size. Anyway, feedbacks in regards to runner's event tee were completely ignored. They made it compulsory to wear the event tee but the larger size we out of stock and did not replenish. I saw many participants trying their best to squeeze their body in into their small tee. -_- My sis heck care, she just ran with her own orange tee. The after event was alright, but the queue to collect our bags and to get free hotdogs and ice cream were super-duper long. Furthermore, the queue to for shuttle bus service was like the after-event for NDP. So packed and crowded and some of us decided to walk to the MRT station via the bridge. The walk was literally like a 3km army road march.

Confirm plus chop, I won't sign up for Nike Run ever...

 Next run:

Sunday, 16 June 2013
This time, I'm aiming to run below 35mins.

Rohani
