Assalamulaikum..
During fasting month, when my friends asked me what I ate for break fast, I would always answered, "Banana Nut Crunch cereal''. Then they asked, "That's it? Aren't you hungry?" No is always my answer.
I, myself wonder why I don't feel as hungry compared to eating rice. Banana Nut Crunch with HL milk is my staple food for sahur. 90% of the time, I'll eat that only, followed by 1 banana sometimes. Mainly because I'm too sleepy to eat. I'm not going to deny that. So, to make my sahur as fast as possible, I'll eat cereal while my other family members will eat rice with other main dishes. If I eat like them, I will confirm-plus-chop, I will feel hungry by the noon. Seriously, I'm not kidding.
So today, as I was having Banana Nut Crunch after waking up, I do a research why eating this curb my hunger during the fasting month. Now I know why - it's due to fiber. Fiber helps to curb hunger because of the slow digestion. Slow digestion means you will feel full longer. Because rice is a carb, you will feel hungry sooner. Futher more, this cereal contains nut thus adding the fiber content. This is the one and only cereal that it's up to my liking. Because I want to lose weight, I added natural walnuts to it. My stomach felt satisfied compared to eating mee soto, mee rebus, nasi lemak... hehe.
Speaking of losing weight, I am now at level 2 day 9 of the 30 days shred workout. 1 more day to go to Level 3. I've been exercising 5 times a day, more than 150 mins per week since the start of this year. On my off days, I will jog 3km in the neighborhood with my sister. Although I've yet to see the drop in the weighing scale, I felt my heart is as good as ever.
My sister said her friend lose weight 1kg per day just by drinking 1litre of fruit juice. Although I'm eager to lose weight, I will never ever tried that diet or eat supplements to lose weight. I mean, how long can you last? If I've tried that method and achieve my ideal weight, will I be that healthy? Heart is the most important muscle and if there's nothing you do about it, what's the point of losing weight right. That is why normal weight people do have health issues.
Next up is 10th March 2013. My sis & I signed up for 5km Venus Run 2013.
