Weight loss goal reach - Down 8kg in 6 months!

Assalamualaikum..

I'm super happy that I've achieved my weight loss goal, actually over-achieve. I'm now 54kg. My goal was 55kg. So I'm now trying to gain back 1kg. Heh.. because my chest look so flat. I don't want to be slim but shapeless. I'm so going to do lots of toning workout now.

When the weighing scale, 54kg. I went on a food spree, thinking I could gain back a kg. But all the food are wasted. I only can finish half of what I've bought and I was burping for hours even when I woke up from nap. The next day, I weigh.. still the same and I have no appetite to eat at all except fruits and oats cause my stomach feel so bloated.

Anyway, this Sunday it's going to be my 3rd 5km run (Pocari Sweat). Aiming for 35mins. The best timing during my self-training is 32mins and I feel I still got so much energy left.

My colleagues asked me, "Have you stop dieting after losing weight?". I replied, "What diet? I never diet. I just changed my eating habit and lifestyle."

I cut down my snacks, junk food, fast food and deep fried food and eat more real whole food, veg, fruits, raw, juicing and seeds. I look forward to running and hitting the gym. Been doing that for 6months and feel amazing, why should I stop?

They asked how I do control my temptation and hunger? These are all in the mind. I've learn from the Gabriel Method, to add in nutritious food on top of what you are eating now. Because slowly you will learn to eat healthy and cut down from what you use to eat. This comes naturally. And strictly never ever let yourself starving because your body will go to fat program mode in which what you eat later will be as fats because your body will think that you are in a famine. I believe the method work because it teaches you, educate you, not instruct you or re-strict you. It's a method... not a die-t (:

I know most fitness experts and diet books will definitely touch on calories intake.

Who the hell want to spend the rest of their life counting calories everytime they eat? I don't. I use to believe that cutting back calories was the way to lose weight. But it didn't work. You know why? Because even though I eat less calories, the nutritional value is not there. I use to eat 100 calories diet bar and still feel freaking hungry.  Now, to me as long as the food is nutritious and natural with no preservatives, don't even bother to think how many calories is in it.

For exercise, don't over-do it. Yes, you can set a target but be realistic. I started off with 1km of jog/walk 6months ago and it ached my hips and thigh. But slowly I learn to control that it's all in your mind. I use to count how many rounds I can jog in the park. Now, I ran until my body says stop. Don't think how many miles/km you could jog, when you are running.. think of something else like listen to your favourite music and sings a long with it, in your heart or think what you are doing to do later and just enjoy the scenery. Don't focus too much on your running because you will never know how far you can go. Other than that, don't just do one exercise, switch it like doing yoga once in a while, dvd workout, go to the gym or even cycling. Do something adventurous and competitive also like rock climbing, taking part in marathon and whatever that takes physical activity.

Any weight-loss supplements? In the Facebook, I've always see people promoting pill or drinking weight loss supplements claiming that not only you will lose weight but your health will improve and stated as a natural product. I'm a bit skeptical. Because I've once tried and no effect. And troublesome.. drink one cup of weigh-loss shaker before every meal. And because you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight... that's what I'm worried about. I believe that something in your body must have overwork that achieve that goal...maybe your liver?? I can't comment much because I've never tried it in a long time.

Overall, just educate yourself. Once you know the truth about food, you will know what it's not that hard to keep the weight off and be healthy. (:

Regards,
Rohani
