Picnic at Fort Canning Park

Assalamualaikum...

As mention in the previous post, I had a wonderful picnic date with Irwan on 16 Dec 08 at Fort Canning Park.

Work up at 6 in the morning just to boil the hotdogs for picnic while Irwan's mum cook some food for that event too. Met him at 8am and we travel there by train to Doudby Ghaut station.

There are not many people there as that time was the CNY season. We saw only foreigners, mainly from China.

Direction of where to go

The Sally Port
Irwan ajak me to enter this gate but I wasn't brave enough.
It looks kinda errie tunnel.

Fort Gates
A gate attached to a very huge metal door.

9-Pound Cannon

Archeaology Place
In that place, there is a mini exhibition on the things the archelogist found like places, cups, books and so on. The place feel errie; both of us were shocked the the lights suddenly went off for the few sec. Haha.

Keramat Iskandar Shah
No idea who is he but I think he was somewhat
one of a warrior during WWII.

The Cinnamon Tree
We then pass by the Spice Garden where spices
such as cinnamon, clove & etc were planted.

Fort Canning Centre

We then rest for a picnic break. We brought:
1. Honey Chicken Wing
2. Hotdogs, bread with cheese
3. Nuggets
4. Snacks! - Seaweed and Crackers.

Let's Makan!

Near Gothic Gates
It looks like some kind of burned ship.

Vanilla Tree

Chili Padi

Picnic Terrace
There isn't actually a terrace.
Only a small pond and pondok.

The big wooden plug

Bridge
where under it there's water flowing through a man-made sungai.

Ntah ape ntah. Tapi petik je la.

After the picnic adventure ended, we went to Ochard to sell his handphone and he bought a new non-camera phone for usage during NS. Then, to Sim Lim Square because I am thinking of selling my MP4 (if can) but I don't think the stores there will take in used MP4. We then proceed to CASH CONVERTER at JEast and the person said he will buy my MP4 for $12. My first reaction was "ewww...". Eventually, I decided not to sell it to anyone or anywhere.

Us outside Sim Lim Square macam budak tempiaran.

Despite his foot injury, Irwan was wiling to hunt for ZEN Stone Plus from IMM to Jurong Point all the way to Marina Square. He was frustrated when the ZEN Stone Plus was out of stock that the first two places. Finally, when we arrived at Marina Square's CREATIVE store, he was excited - not only he bought that MP3, he got a free speaker along with it as it was the CNY promotion.
Thought it was a very tiring day, I have fun and adventurous moment with Irwan. =)

Love,
Rohani
