The previous weekends, I went to Ramadhan Youth Challenge with my 3rd sis & Iriani. It was organised by Al-Khair mosque (AKYM) & other 5 mosques in Singapore. We gathered @ Al-Khair & made two new friends, Hidayah & Mas.
There was a briefing on what we are supposed to do. Little did I realised that Nurul Huda (Anugerah Skrin) was sitting beside me. She was very friendly. So sweet lah she..
We were then divided into 4 groups, assigned @ different places. I was lucky to have my sis and Iriani sticking with me. There were ice-breaking session among ourselves. We intro our name, age & what are we doing currently. My sis was the last one. I burst into laughter when she lied that she's from BMC, taking Business Computing. She said, "Aku tgk semua ckp dorang either skola tau keje. Kalau aku ckp aku ni penganggur kat umah, paisey plak. Jadi tipu jek la.." She made a mistake in lying because two guys from the group keep askig her about BMC and she knows nothing about it. Haha..
Our group were assigned to do decoration @ Bukit Batok Home for the Aged for the upcoming Hari Raya Festival. One of my team member, Khalif was the most annoying guy. I saw his face most of the volunteering activites since day 1. Umur da la tua, tapi perangai macam budak kecik. Heeehee..Tak baik aku.
After we completed our task, we walked around the place. This old lady told me to come over her because she wants me to hear her singing. So cute lah she.
Around 2, half of us in the group were separated into different house to help the other teams to do cleaning job. I was separated from my poor sis. Hehe. Iriani, I and 3 other members were placed in one of the Bukit Panjang house. Kecoh sey rumah tuh, so packed, ramai orang tengah tolong.
I sweep the floor then I entered the kitchen to wash the plates and clean the oven area while the guys were busy cleaning the kitchen floor and toilet. There's a main leader from AKYM who look like Sheikh Haikal, afro hair. But it's kinda cool look. We left the place after Asar and went to Masjid Al-Iman for buka.
Before buka, we gathered with all other AKYM teams and shared our experiences in each houses. I told them that I was from Mendaki & I had never volunteered for old folks. It's kinda interesting to gain new experiences. Well, the afro-hair-guy was crapping a lot during sharing session. We laughed like mad, tak boleh tahan.
After buka, we solat maghrib, ishyak & terawih together. Then, we took a bus transport to Esplanade to give out pamplets. In the bus, the 'little' guys were crapping like mad what my sis & I just can't stop laughing. When we reached the Esplanade, we all feel awkward to give out Ramadhan pamplets because majority of the people there are totally mats and minahs. Even the older guys in my team were afraid to give out also.
The other teams were okay. But they said they do received sarcastic remarks from these people. To me, this was the most challenging part of RYC program.
At 12, took the same bus to Assyakirin mosque and eat our supper before we took a short nap.
Woke up @ 3.30am to pray together and then have our sahur.
After sahur, took a short nap again and the RYC activity ended by having a small sharing session with the gals before we went off.
It was a total fun experiences! I am so lovin it! Haahaa..
But..
Little did I know that someone in that RYC program, one of the committe of AKYM was watching over me all this while. Well, there's this guy who view my profile in Friendster. So I view his and I found out that it was the afro-hair-guy.
We chatted on MSN and he gave me his number. I was shocked lah because I never talked to him during volunteering, especially when he & I were in the same house, cleaning.
I asked him how he get my MSN. And he replied honestly that when the first time he saw me @ that house, he was interested to know me but he didnt had the chance because I was always sticking to Iriani. He said he tried to joke around with me but I couldn't understand, I was blurred. I just remembered when I want to entered the kitchen, he was blocking my way and saying something, then laughed by himself.
During the sharing session @ Al-Iman mosque, he said he was too shy to look at me but he tried to. I told my 3rd sis who was sitting beside me @ that time and she said, "No wonder la he keep looking at our way. He was actually looking at you!"
I was surprised because I didn't realized that at all. I asked him, "Kenapa awak notice kite sedangkan ada ramai lagik anak dara lain dalam rumah tuh?"
He: Entahlah. Kalau mata da berkenan, kite nak buat ape awak. Time tu kan kite tgh pecahkan pintu bilik makcik tuh. Bila kite nampak awak yang baru masuk tu, kite da tertarik. Time kite dalam dapur, kite nampak awak kat living room tengah kemas, kite macam rasa kite nak sangat kenal dengan awak. Yang paling best, bila awak masuk dapur, tengah cuci sink tuh. Kan kite tengah cuci lantai dapur. Kite panggil awak tapi awak tak dengar pulak. Macam awak tak nak layan kite jek. Abeh time awak nak masuk dapur carik kawan awak, kite try to joke tapi muka awak blur je. Kite betol2 nak mintak nombo tapi awak asyik dengan orang je, macam paisey gituk. Awak ngat tak time sharing session? Kite duduk opposite awak, kite rsa betul2 segan. Tapi kite try to tengok jugak. Tapi akak awak jek yg notice.. Bila kita balik rumah, kite tak boleh tidur. Terus kite gi friendster search for awak sebab time sharing session kite ngat awak kata awak dr Mendaki.
I was speechless. I seriously don't realised that he was looking at me throughout the volunteering. I asked him, "What makes you notice me?"
He said, "Your sweet smile."
He called me yesterday night and we talked for hours. I don't know what's wrong with me that I am so nervous talking to him. He keep asking me to join AKYM with him to that we can work together. I can sense that he wants more from me I think. Because he asked me if I am dating anyone and if I would like to join him buka together this Saturday.
I left speechless. Seriously, I don't know what to say. He's freaking funny, he's kind, nice, religious although with that cool-afro-hair, tall, plump and he's not really like Sheikh Haikal lah...much more better looking. Haha..When I saw him for the first time, I just see him as any normal guy. During around a year of volunteering, I had never ever thought I would meet someone. I didn't plan to.. cuci mata tu adalah cikit2..tapi bukan nak sangat dengan orangnyer.
Should I or shouldn't I just opened my heart?
Wassalam
Rohani
