The Shop

Sinopsis
I've worked part-time at a pushcart which sells pakaian muslimah kat Lot One Shopper's mall for nearly a year. My bos, Cik Haslinda has already planned to employ me as a full-timer after completing my O level this year. However, it did not turned out to be like had she had planned.
The busniess started to collapsed June afterwards because of personal problems.And just the previous Monday, the shop was shut-down after spending 3-4 years at that mall. I was extremely shocked...

Pertama kaliku bekerja sebagai solo
That's the first job that I applied straight after my N level last year. I have considered lucky enough to be hired after 3 days applying it. Great. I was trained under Kak Innah for 3 days. I remembered the first time I worked there as a solo, without Kak Innah's assistance. And I made my first mistake. I accidentally gave a customer $5 tudung for free. She bought so many clothes from it that I miss out to count the tudung. Of course, bos was pretty angry with me that I had to work an extra hour.

Temanku, Winnie
Then, I met new people who worked at Lot One. Winnie, the girl who previous worked at the pushcart which sells bags. I didnt talked to her much, she too cause we have no idea what to talk about. Hehe. Wasn't that close to her. But she was cute though. She introduced me to her boyfriend who also worked at the mall, the DIY store. The guy was great. We talked a lot, more than I talked to Winnie.

Zakariah-Zakiah
Mid-december, Kak Innah quit the job because she had to continue her studies at Syria. Then, I met Zakiah, my new colleague who will be replacing Kak Innah. Zakiah thought I was sombong because I didnt salam her. Actually, I forgot. Hehe. We were busy counting stocks during her first day of work. When Zakiah was concentrating on her counting, I called out her name, "Zakariah! Zakariah!" Zakiah stopped counting and turned to me.
Zakiah: Huh? Ape awak panggil kite?
CT: Nama awak Zakariah kan?
Zakiah: (giggling) Zakiah la. Kan Zakariah tu name lelaki.
CT: Ouh..hehe..sorry.
Zakiah lost count after that. Lol. Thus, she had to recount all over again.

Warna bukan penghalang perhubungan
Soon later, I made friends with an indian malaysian cleaner. She was a nice lady. Always asked me if I had eaten, how's my day..and sometimes, she bought food for me. Extremely kind-hearted. I was closed to her. During her break, she will hang around in my shop and chit-chat. She will tell me about the political and education system at Malaysia, about her 2 kids- now a successful college students, her family and everything. All about her life. She too complaint about her job and of course, the pay- which was much lower than mine.

Teman baru, Esther
End of December, Winnie quit work- now working in office and a new girl replaced her. Her name was Esther who looks like 15 years old but she's actually 22. I was very closed to her. When we were bored, we played UNO, DISNEY SNAKE & LADDER, CROSSWORD PUZZLE. If one of us lost the game, had to belanja. Hehe..so fun. We talked crapped mostly but in other times, serious- about marriage. Haha. Then, on September she introduced me to her boyfriend. I thought her boyfriend mcm ah-lian sbb ada byk tatoo all over hir arms and legs..muke pun bleh tahan garang. Tapi, biler bebual, salah sangkaanku. Boyfriend dier baik..kdg2 kelakar, kdg2 bosan dgr dier bebual..hehe pasal motor dan kereta. Manelah aku interest ttg topik ni. Tapi aku iyer kan jek. Eksyen interest. Hehe. But, sadly their relationship doesn't last long...

Rakan sekerja, teman baik
Zakiah and I became best friends. She is a funny and always had something to talk about. I simply love to hear her stories. We really missed working together during December month. We will inform each other about the sales. Not forgeting, complaint about the rude customers. Hehe..sometimes, they can be very very very irritating.

Apakan daya..
Near March, the indian cleaner was fired. I have no idea why. She promised me that she come to Lot One to see me once in a while. But she didn't. I never saw her after that.

Temanku tak kenal usia- Cik Rokiah dan Cik Sarlina
Then, I made friends with 2 new malay cleaners. They are in their 60's but I called him Cik instead of nenek. There's never a day they didn't come to my shop. Most of the time, they bought tudung. Their name are Cik Sarlina and Cik Rokiah. (tukar bhs melayu plak..) Cik Lina cute giler..mcm nak cubit2 pipi nyer. Dia akan cerita tentang zaman dier dulu kecik..org yg mengajar dier mengaji nak sound dier time dier da ade tunang. Pastu, rombongan org kampung marah kat orang tu. Haha..Mesti dier cun giler time dier masih muda2 dulu kan. Cik Rokiah plak org yg paling aku rapat kat tmpt keje. Dier selalu akan crita ttg anak2 dier...ttg arwah suaminyer...ttg agame..mcm-mcm ar. Best ! Kadang2 kalo dorang dua tak bekerja mcm boring gituk..

Aunty Miniballs
Aku berkenalan juga dengan Aunty Sandy kat Miniballs. Mcm mane aku berkenalan pun aku dh lupe. Dia very cute dan suke berbual. Selalu tanya biler aku akan bekerja dan tanya tentang pelajaran aku. Aww...so caring. Haha. Semalam,aku gi Lot One, singgah kat Miniballs jumpe Aunty tu. Aku bilang dier yg kedai tak de lagi. Dia pun sedih.

Aunt: Of course I miss you. I wonder why this gurl never come down to see me.
Haiz..

My employer, my friend..
Cik Lin mmg baik orangnyer. At first, dia ingat aku budak pendiam (biasalah first time job nak step baik dulu..) Lama-kelamaan dia kenal sifatku yg sebenar, dia kata aku ni nakal, blur sangat (selalu dia suruh aku repeat what she said sbb dia takut i dont get it) dan banyak perasaan (sbb aku selalu gelar diriku kat depan dia sebagai Siti Nurhaliza ;) ) Hehe..tak tau malu ar aku. In the cashbook, I always log using that nick. Tapi walau ape pun, Cik Lin tau aku nyer budak terus terang. Hehe. Kalau aku tak suke, aku cakap. Mcm time tu, Cik Lin suruh guna plastic bag design baru. Aku ckp lar.."Eee..tak lawah nyer, plastic ni mcm jual vcd haram" Skali, Cik Lin tukar plastic bag baru yang ada flower2. Hehe. Ada jugak aku ckp ngan Cik Lin tudung yang tak lawah-"Mcm leopard skin..) Cik Lin ni baik orangnyer, kelakar, kalau garang pun kite paham.

Teman yg tak ku pasti akan menjadi kawan akhirnya- Radiah..
Pada bulan Jun, aku berkenalan dgn Radiah who worked at Mini Toons. Dia baru kerja sana. At first, aku takut2 nak berkawan dgn dier. Tgk orang nyer mcm ganas sikit tapi bkn minah la. Tapi, da lama-kelamaan, aku dapat bebual dgn dier mcm biasa. Dia akan cerita kat aku ttg bf dier..teman2 dier dan kehidupan remaja skrg. Aku very the interested biler dgr cerita2 mcm ni. Sbb kawan2 aku semua mane lah ade 'experience' pasal ni...cuma Radiah. Walaupun Radiah mixed with them, dgn kite..dier ttp baik.

Ada satu ketika ni, ada satu kejadian ni..ttg Zakiah. Ada lah..tak bleh crita kat sini. Masa ni la dier belanja aku naik teksi dan makan SIAM KITCHEN sbb aku ada berada disisinyer time dier tgh depressed. Kheekhehe..

Menghilang diri- Biqi
Around October, Esther quit sbb ada problem dgn her employer. Then, dtg budak baru. Namanyer Biqi. She's 16 years old. My first impression of her, sombong and her first impression of me, she just don't like me. Tapi kan..lama-kelamaan kiter berbual. Rupenye dier socialable dan dier asyik cubit pipi aku. Sakit giler. Tapi buat dek jek aku ni. Haha. Mcm biasa, Esther ni introduced aku to her boyfriend who work at Mini Toons. Tapi tak banyak bebual ar..tanye khabar jek.

Elane..
Namun, Biqi gone missing. Entah mane dier pergi. Even the employer dgn bf dier tk tau mane dier. Kedai tu closed for a while. Soon after, ada budak baru, namanyer Elane. Aku ingat dier poly student. Rupenyer, she's one year younger than me. Tapi, tinggi giler..168. Elane ni matured cikit. Dia lah yg asked for number untuk aku. Haha, tapi tak jadi in the end.. =p

Tak sempatku kenal
In November, Elane da fed-up dgn pekerjaan tu sbb dier kate terlalu boring. Then, datang budak baru lagik..mananyer, Madeline. Aku tak sempat tak berkenalan dgn dier lagik rapat sbb kedai pun da tutup time tu..

Penutup
Aku terperanjat biler Zakiah call aku malam2 ckp Cik Lin da tutup kedai. Dia nangis. Da 3 thn seh berdiri, skrg da tak de lagik. Skrg kedai ada cina yang ambik. Dia jual pakaian baby.

Reflaksi
Banyak pengajaran aku dapat drpd pekerjaan aku..Ramai teman aku kenal. Including one of my regular costumer, Kak Redha. She's now my friend. Aku pun kenal pekerja2 part time kat kedai bag, iaitu Tina dan Li Feng. Kalau tak aku tak dapat keje ni, tak mungkin aku kenal Esther, Zakiah, Cik Lin, Cik Sarlina, Cik Rokiah, Radiah, Elane, the indian cleaner, Kak Redha, Biqi, Aunt Sandy dan yg tak sempat kenal..Madeline. Thanks u guys!
